Lookup Fields on Accounts
What are Lookup Fields on Accounts & Why Is It Important to Keep Them Updated
Lookup Fields are an effective way to create relationships between different records and quickly navigate between records. You can use lookup fields to understand who has a specific role at an Account, who is responsible for approving students in the Hiring Hub, and more.
A lookup relationship essentially links two objects together so that you can “look up” one object from the related items on another object.
Updated lookup fields help us to manage relationships between multiple records and work more effectively asynchronously. These fields help us to run reports, build dashboards, and more.

Employer Account Lookup Fields

Section | Field | How the Field is Used |
---|---|---|
Main | Primary Contact | The main decision maker at the Employer Account. |
Main | Billing Contact | The Contact that has payment or other financial authority at the Employer Account. |
Main | HR Representative | The Contact that can provide data that is generally controlled by Human Resources such as hourly wage, hours worked, etc. |
Main | Relationship Manager | The CareerWise employee who serves as the main point of contact for the Employer day-to-day. |
Main | Default “Reports To” User | The Program Lead who will be the default manager of all Supervisors under this Account. Only active Users with Business Partner Profile will qualify. |
Financial Information | PO Contact | Some Employers require a Purchase Order in order to pay CareerWise fees, the individual with whom billing should communicate for this information is located in this field. |
System Information | Primary CareerWise Contact | The CareerWise employee who serves as the main point of contact for the Employer but may not necessarily be the day-to-day contact. |

Main | Parent Account | If the Account is part of a hierarchical structure, this field will house the Account that is higher up in the rank. For example, the Headquarters location might be the Parent Account for a local banking branch. |
Address | Program State Account | The Affiliate with which the Employer is associated. |
System Information | Most Recent Opportunity | The most recent hiring Opportunity associated with the Employer. |
Instruction MGMT Tab | Related Instruction Set | A collection of Related Instruction Requirements that may be associated with this specific Employer. |
School Account Lookup Fields

Main | Relationship Manager | The CareerWise employee who serves as the main point of contact for the School or District. In situations where the School is also an Employer, this individual may be different from the Education Partnerships Manager mentioned below. |
Education Details | Designated Approver | The Counselor/Designated Approver/CareerWise Staff Member who is able to evaluate and approve Student Applicant profiles in the Hiring Hub. |
Education Details | Principal | The Principal of the School. |
Education Details | Secondary Contact | The backup Contact for the Designated Approver and/or Principal. |
Education Details | Education Partnerships Manager | The CareerWise employee who manages the recruiting relationship with a School partner. This may also be the same person who manages the relationship with the School for Apprentices who are also still students. |
System Information | Primary CareerWise Contact | The CareerWise employee who serves as the main point of contact for the School or District but may not necessarily be the day-to-day contact. |
